about
Bio/explanation:
First time first use of "SpinTunes" song "contest" March 2021 to see what kind of community it may be - especially since, in how came to know about it - the "FAWM" or as I call them F-troop, "kool-kids" group (a small group think, herd mentality easily assimilated into the Borg hive collective :) ).
So, most, not all, but most appeared would not care for it, our stuff, no matter what it may be :) - us, me, "we" (Cody, dzd) - kinda figured that'd happen LOL!!
- "They" appeared to have a lot of midi, samples and over-processed "music". And so this "Second" song submission from me never was posted - for what? The initial song(s) was a "test", just to see, and so it went as expected. Cody, however, took another "beating" hahhh, LOL! just to confirm the "Song Fight" (forum) mentality culture there too - of that closed group *seeking members?, really? for what purpose?
Anyway, and nevertheless, this second "challenge was to "re-tell a work of fiction", what this was for - not submitted.
- It appeared that new folks could not "compete" with all the interpersonal history there; so, again - why seek "new" folks!!!??? OMG :) anyway..., proceeding...
- Me being about the "Music" -
I know nothing about the "Expanse" and the Books, Series, et alia. Cody was quite an "expert". Nonetheless, I do enjoy that "TV" Series now ongoing and not yet complete. That is ALL I know of it, as new fan, of "that".
Challenge 02:
"Re-tell a work of fiction (book, movie, play, etc.) from the perspective of a minor or supporting character. In your song bio, identify your source material and POV character."
Therefore, - as I understand "it", from that perspective, this work of fiction, - two large, powerful Parties, at war with each other and screwing all the third parties involved between them (like real life here too? :) ), quite an analogy for today?, - this lyric, from a now dead "soldier", and may become their/a new folk song sung around "warming units" on some asteroid during meal-wafer breaks :) drinking Grappa and smoking Ganji.
- Me, I identify as a Belter, - indeed, screw the Earth :) which (in that story) became the septic tank for the Elites only, as we now see happening? - Maybe, maybe not, one may only pray, and the Lords Will be done and be happy about it! Aye!? :)
"The New Patriots"
Yes, many years into Earth's future, Mars is colonized and remains in a constant struggle and unease. Caught between these two worlds, are the people of the asteroid belts, other planets, Miners, - "Belters". Naomi Nagata - character, - looking toward their new world, not yet come, and covered in her own blood perfume, and pain wardrobe, found this song on the dead body of one of her crew. She had a friend sing it for her, into space, when no one was looking. This may have been what it sounded like, - we just don't know for sure; it was overheard and the paper, lyrics released into space with it's words, as a blessing, prayer, hope for outcome.
Other:
Buss, is Belter Creole for intimate kiss
MAME is a made up "Belter" word, it could stand for (aside from maim?) "Multiple Architecture Machine Emulation", but, we're just not sure ;) (Belter accents and all, being what they are).
- We did our best to translate; however, some musicality may have been lost since not really an "Earther" song :)
We cry, screw the earth, and mars too
Made for only, the non-can-celled few
Elite make their plite complete
Let it all burn, then flood, then blow like dust
For those, that lust, lust in the dust
Be it red, white, or blue, their whores buss
Like red-dirt, screw-worms, that invade, what's not theirs
And o-press ancient blood lines, without, proper tears
Let it all burn, then flood, then blow like dust
Let their lust..., perfume, be, their, legacy
Let their memory be their shame, all they mame
Let it all burn, then flood, then blow like dust
Let their lust..., perfume, be, their, legacy
Let their memory be their shame, all they mame
Let it all burn, then flood, then blow, like dust
Let it all burn, then flood, then blow like dust
